Function / Content

This series consists of the papers of Sidney W Pick (1880-1940), a solicitor practicing in Tennant Creek and Alice Springs. The papers include bills of sale, leases, powers of attorney, wills, mortgages, transfers and agreements. Included within this series are papers relating to the Dorothy Syndicate, allowing them to start mining operations in Central Australia. These papers include those relating to the creation of the syndicate (syndicate agreement) and the application for water rights, negotiations with other miners, invoices for purchased goods, and a complaint made by another solicitor to the Law Society. Also on file are papers relating to the 1928 sale of Eurapunga Station (spelt "Urapungie"). After the death of Sydney W Pick in 1940 these records were transferred to the Alice Springs Police Station.
